SCOUTS AND GUIDES OF TURKEY
![]()
Scouting was founded in Turkey in 1923 and recognized by the World Bureau (WOSM) in 1950. Membership on January 1, 1998 was reported as being 11,252 registered Scouts and Guides.
There is an annual week called, "THE SCOUT - THE HELPER". This gives all members of the Scout Association an opportunity to participate in community service projects where they help for a week in hospitals, at The Red Crescent Association and similar organizations. They plant trees in villages in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.
Only the Cub packs are open to boys and girls.
