SCOUTING IN QATAR

QATAR BOY SCOUTS ASSOCIATION

Scouting in Qatar was founded in 1955 and was recognized by the World Bureau (WOSM) in 1965. Membership in 1998 was 5,096 registered Scouts.

Program emphasis is on out-of-school education in religion, citizenship and health as well as the usual Scout crafts, physical fitness and community service.

There are Scout courses in wildlife conservation and projects for increasing plant life.

There is a special program for Sea Scouts who are trained in all water and boat activities. There is also a small Air Scout section.

Program Sections:

 Cubs- ages 7 to 11

 Scouts- ages 11 to 14

 Seniors- ages 14 to 17

 Rovers- ages 17 to 22

Kun Musta'idan……….Be Prepared

Scout Oath:

On my honour I promise that I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people at all times and to obey the Scout Law.
