SCOUTING IN LUXEMBOURG

LUXEMBOURG BOY SCOUTS ASSOCIATION

The Luxembourg Scouts Association is the representative to the World Bureau (WOSM) for the 2 Scout Associations. They are 1-Federation Nationale des Eclaireurs et Eclaireuses du Luxembourg (FNEL) and 2-Federation Nationale des Scouts du Luxembourg (FNSL).

Scouting was founded in Luxembourg in 1914 and in 1922, Luxembourg became a founding member of the World Bureau. Today, January 1998, there are 5,853 registered members.

 

FEDERATION NATIONALE DES SCOUTS DU LUXEMBOURG

The Association is open to all boys and girls without discrimination to race, religion or nationality. Its spiritual ideals are based on Christian beliefs and are recognized by the Catholic Church.

International activities are an important part of the Scout program. About 90% of of the Pioneer summer camps are held abroad. The older youth are involved in a large community development project in Senegal.

 Wellefcher/ Louveteaux -Cubs/ Brownies- ages 8 to 11

 Explorers- Scouts- ages 11 to 14

 Pioneier/Pionniers - Senior Scouts- ages 14 to 17

 Rovers/ Routiers- ages 17 to 23

Scout Oath:

Je m'engage a donner un sens a mac vie et a assumer de la responsabilites, a respecter l'environnement et a agir pour la paix et la justice, a me laisser guider dans cette demarche par la Bonne Nouvelle de Jusus Christ.

Scout Law:

 Est consciencieux

 Est honnete et correct

 Est pret a rendre service

 Est genereux envers tout le monde

 Fait le premier pas et s'engage pour la justice

 Respecte la vie dans toutes ses formes

 Est capable d'ecouter et de supporter la critique

 A une conception optimiste de la vie

 Sait s'organiser et ne fait rien a moitie

 Prend soin de sa sante physique et morale
