SCOUTING IN KIRIBATI
![]()
Kiribati is a small island in the Pacific Ocean. They have an active Scouting program but there is little known about them.
It is not known when Scouting first appeared on the island, however; it is suspected that Scouting was introduced by the colonial powers for dependents of their citizens. It is believed that as years passed, Scouting was made available to the islanders.
Scouting in Kiribati was recognized by the World Bureau (WOSM) in 1993. Membership in 1998 was 1,798.
