SCOUTING IN FRANCE
SCOUTISME FRANCAIS
FRENCH SCOUTING
The "Scoutisme Francais" is the federation of the six associations of scouts in France. These six associations are recognized by the Ministry of the Youth and Sports and allowed to deliver scout program, leadership and training. They are recognized by the world associations and organizations of scouting and guiding.
Citizenship, solidarity, liberty, spirituality, team life, education by playing, engagement, responsibilities, actions, initiatives, concrete projects, international meetings... this is in a few words the program of the "Scoutisme Francais"
It has been reported that there are over 80 Scout Organizations in France today. However, only 9 of these Scout Associations are recognized by the Youth Ministry.
SCOUTS de FRANCE -SDF
The SDF is a scouting movement of the Catholic Church. The Scouts de France was founded in 1920 by Father Sevin. They provide young boys and girls, a team share, and a faith life, through which they participate in building the world.
SDF's Scouting system is complementary to the scholar and family education. It aims the personal and social development of each young member, by the following :
Character, health, creativity, service for others, Reliance to God
By activities like camping, by realizing together big projects., the association helps its young members to have more lucidity concerning the outside world and become active citizens in their society and environment. It's also a concrete discovery of the Christian hope and faith.
Membership today in SDF exists in 1,500 areas and includes more than 110,000 members. The staff is composed of volunteers responsible for scouting activities and programs, depending on the ages.

Louveteaux / Louvettes- Cubs: ages 8 to 12
Scouts / Scoutes: ages 11 to 15
Pionniers /Pionni- Explorers: ages 14 to 17
Compagnons/ Rovers: ages 17 to 21
Mousses / Sea Scouts: ages 14 to 17

Scouts Musulmans de France-
SMFThe concept of the SMF is the result of discussions, animation practices, training of the youth of Islamic culture and believers engaged in an educational action. In order to provide them an educational structure adequate to the goals, principle and methods of scouting. The SMF was founded in a national association, on December the 20 of 1990.
The aims of SMF are boosted by an ideal of tolerance and peace. The SMF aim is to welcome in a sane and experienced structure, young people from immigrant origins, in order to provide them a humanitarian and spiritual training, based on universal values like love, fraternity, accomplished duty, and to channel their energy in positive actions in order to prepare their future.
Program Sections:
From 8 to 12 : discover the nature and share happiness.
From 11 to 15 : dare and make efforts, live adventures.
From 14 to 18 : dare, improve and move.
From 17 to 21 : I am a Compagnon of the human being. I belong to the
one worldwide humanity. With virtue, serving God, humble and loyal, I create the peace.
The future is in serving others by a voluntary engagement, the SMF participate in the education of boys and girls, in order to build a world rich of fairness and communication. As responsible citizens, they work actively and usefully in the development of the society in which they live, throughout the respect of everyone religions and beliefs.

Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs Israelites de France-
EEIFEEIF is the Jewish scouting movement. EEIF was founded in 1923. The EEIF has been a scouting association for the young Jews of France that are aware of their identity and their role in the city. The EEIF provides an open Jewish education, in full of respect of the individual optics, aware of the problems of their community.
The EEIF give responsibilities to their adherents, following universal principles of scouting. By that, the EEIF has been engaged in the resistance against the nazi occupants, the reconstruction of the community after the war, the integration of recovered Jews, the social struggle and the big current debates. By that, the scouting method enhances the most important human qualities.
The EEIF is an open scout movement. It is open to all Jews regardless of their social, economic, or family origins. An action movement providing the youth with a dynamic Judaism, artistic, musical or outside activities, sports and knowledge about Israel.

Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs Unionistes de France-
EEUFThe EEUF was founded in 1911. The Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs Unionistes de France is a member of the Protestant federation of France. The EEUF has aimed to help boys and girls to become independent, responsible, and solidaristic, by playing, environment welfare, projects.
We ask everyone to find a solid equilibrium and a real meaning to his life, by confronting the Bible and testimony of Christian people, in full respect of every one's convictions.

Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs de France EEDF
In 1911, the Eclaireuses et Eclaireurs de France was the first Scouting movement in France, to provide a modern and innovating Scouting. They are welcome children, young people and adults, without any social, religious, ethnic or cultural discrimination.
The staff of the EEDF are volunteers. They believe that their engagement provides them a personal improvement.
The association is organized in local groups, composed of young people from 6 to 19 years of age. These children are led by trained and capable chiefs. They learn how to make decisions, to take initiatives and to be in charge.
