SCOUTING BARBADOS

BARBADOS BOY SCOUTS ASSOCIATION

There are 3,041 registered members in the Scout Association as of 1998.

Scouting started in 1912 and Barbados became a member of the World Organization (WOSM) in 1969.

Scouts of Barbados participate in many Caribbean Camps. They have a large, active Sea Scout program which is aided by the government and navy.

The program emphasis is on community service, nature conservation which includes tree planting, harvesting and beautification projects.

Scouting is most active in Bridgetown, the capital city and the surrounding areas.

Scouts are active in Caribbean activities and attend many camps and jamborees in neighboring Caribbean islands.


 Program Sections:

 Cubs- ages 7 to 12

 Scouts- ages 12 to 16

 Venturers- ages 16 to 20
