Scouting in Algeria began around 1911, with the introduction by French Scouts. Scouts of Algeria was officially founded in 1939 and became a member of the World Organization (WOSM) in 1963.
Members are actively involved in national construction and community development projects. They have constructed schools, improved roads, planted trees and conducted literacy campaigns.
Membership is about 70,000 scouts in 3 program sections.
Program Sections:
Louveteaux (Cub Scouts)- 7 to 11
Pionniers (Rovers)- 15 to 18
